Think of it as asking for 2 laps instead of 1, but without micromanaging each step or lap of the horse) Release of Pressure = How quickly does the horse process what you have asked them to do. Successful Farrier Day- No Sedation!

Sheldon has always been a very skeptical horse. He never really relaxed around you, especially if you tried to rub him on his body past his withers. We would have to sedate him heavily for our farrier to be able to trim him without getting kicked. I got him to the point where you could pick/trim his front feet but he was still worried about his hind feet. We then made the decision to enlist Trevor\\\'s help and he gave us some tricks and pointers to work with Sheldon on. After Trevor came out to help us work with Sheldon, I spent a few sessions working on his hind feet with a soft leg rope. We then became very busy and we didn\\\'t want Sheldon to loose any of his training so we sent him to a local trainer for 60 days. During his stay the trainer\\\'s farrier was able to get 3 out of 4 feet done without any fuss or sedative. when his 60 days were up we got him back and are now able to pick his feet, and he stays calm and quiet. This is our farrier trimming Sheldon without any sedation and we got all 4 feet taken care!
