Worked on ground driving with a halter and bit. No problems once she settled down. Could use more work with ropes around her rear and back legs. Reactive with me tossing rope over her head so worked on that until she relaxed. Did 3 mins of trotting each direction in round pen to start coming conditioning

Round pen with Cat and Leigh Ann

Cat warmed her up with two line drive, then saddled. Took to round pen. Good for up to mounting block. No a lot of handle on her. She is gate and cat sour. Did W/T both directions and found calmness in a head down walk for the end. Got off off side. No worries. Nice horse for all she has been through. Tricky for getting fly mask on/of.

Ground work

Worked more on yielding shoulders when turning. She yielded better but is pulling on the halter, so we worked on line in circles until she softened. She had a cough and some congestion when she started working, so I kept the session short
10/01/2018 01:31
Ground work

She has gotten very pushy with her shoulders, and hasn’t been responding well to the stick and string, so today I used the flag to cause more commotion to get more energy from her. It helped a lot. She started to understand that she does not need to push her head or shoulder into me. Big improvement from start to finish
09/26/2018 03:25
Washed

Washed thoroughly and focused on her face, which she is very uncomfortable with. Lightly sprayed face with water until she lowered head and relaxed
09/14/2018 02:34
Ground work

Debbie, one of the volunteers, did a ground work lesson with Vidalia. Debbie is timid and Vidalia can be a little pushy with her. We worked on accommodating them both to handling the stick and string, and work on debbie’s timing of correcting speed and direction at liberty in the round pen
08/29/2018 03:23
Groundwork and rode

Did groundwork and desensitizing to stick and string. Was more nervous than usual. Better about head being touch. Worked on mounting, she tried to bite me several times when I put my foot in stirrup. Worked on it until she stood quietly and relaxed. Mounted and just had her stand. She walked some, so one trim stop until she stood quietly, so i dismounted. She needs a lot of quiet time under saddle to learn to relax and trust
05/10/2018 01:17
Groundwork

Worked on slapping string on ground next to her. Was very fidgety. Worked on moving her shoulders more, and introduced side passing
05/09/2018 01:03
Groundwork

Worked on swinging string over back. She didn’t move as much this time and licked and chewed a lot more. Was much better about head being touched. Still will not relax and lower head while doing liberty work in round pen. Has a lot of tension
05/07/2018 01:12
Groundwork

Worked on tossing string over he back until she would stand still. Conditioned. Worked on touching head with stick. Pulled away a lot
03/19/2018 06:55
Touching head

Worked on head shyness and dropping head down when pressure is applied to halter
01/30/2018 03:26
Touching head

She had become very head shy again. I worked first with the stick to allow her to get used to being touch around face and ears. Then used my hands, then worked on halterinf and unhalterinf without her pulling away
