Special Needs
In early June of 2016, Bosco, while running through the creek, hit a tree. He broke most of the bones on the left side of his face and his scapula on his left side, skinning a very large chunk of hide from his shoulder. While his shoulder has healed and he is able to be ridden, his face continues to have a place right below his eye that remains open. We have taken him to KSU for plastic surgery to close that wound. Because there is no structure behind it, the hide will not stay closed. We clean it out daily (he hates it) but the vet staff assured us it is not hurting him. He will only be allowed to be adopted to someone who can handle cleaning any debris out his wound on a very regular basis. He wears a fly mask to protect it much of the time.

Cleaned out his wound

He has an open injury that we have tried to perform surgery on at KSU. It will not remain closed. I am the only one who can clean it out of dirt and debris.
