Riding

Lunged with saddle and halter, touched all over, and picked up all four feet. Kendra rode Charlotte while I rode Decoy in the same small paddock. Then I rode Charlotte, she turned left and right, stopped good, and even trotted. Walked beside a fence both sides. Charlotte more relaxed this week afterward.

Handling and riding

Charlotte is still at Kendra\\\'s for training. Exercised Charlotte a little, scratched her all over, and rode her for the first time today for about 10 minutes. Kendra has been riding Charlotte. Charlotte was scared, walked and backed up. She did not run, jump, buck, or kick.

Handle and exercise

Charlotte is still at Kendra\\\'s being trained for riding; however, Kendra brought her to the ranch today for me to work her. Groomed, cleaned all four hooves, exercised her on a long rope in the large arena, and used the plastic bag on a stick to desensitize her.

Groomed, exercised, and tarp training

Groomed, cleaned all four hooves, exercised, and desensitized Charlotte to a flapping tarp. First the tarp was on the ground and then it was in my hands flapping in the wind. Lastly the tarp was opened up and on her back draped over both sides.

Desensitization - prep for first time riding

Used my gray jacket first to de-sensitize Charlotte, then used Kendra\\\'s yellow rain slicker to de-sensitize Charlotte in prep for riding. She eventually was not scared of either jacket and let me touch her with both and lunge with either on her back blowing in the wind.
