Had all in line turning by the ban and heading toward Linda and suddenly, Figure spun out and flipped in the arena. She stood up and when she stopped jumping, Leigh Ann got to her head. Comforted and started untangling the lines. Started by disconnecting bit and clipped reins to halter. Got reins loose, removed breast collar and tugs. Straightened and refastened surcingle. Slowly brought up breeching straps and reattached to continue driving. Walked her forward to make sure no injuries. Resumed driving but with lines loose on side and not through the rings. Let her be alone for a while then drove next to Pipsqueak again. Gave her a liniment bath.

Ground work

Horse Image

Caught easily in stall and took to wash rack to groom. She was very uncomfortable with one of the metal grooming tools, so I gently rubbed her with it until she relaxed. Worked on desensitizing to stick and string in round pen. Right side is very tough for her. When I started slapping the string on the ground next to her, I sat on the mounting block and faced away from her to put as little pressure on her as possible. Took her halter off and worked on catching and was very happy with her not running away from me immediately, but instead walking off and rolling. It shows that she is getting more comfortable with being around people

I stopped once she softened and quit pulling on me.
