continued training

I got on her today, with a hackamore. A bit wont work in her cut up mouth. She showed no sign of being distressed. we walked nicely on a lead rope and I stopped her with the hackamore. We tried a short jog, which she did, but I didn\\\'t want to push her on her first ride.

continued training

Heidi, worked calmly in the saddle and hackamore, Worked and trotted over all obstacles, and did a nice haunch turn in the box. After untacking, loaded and calmly unloaded from the trailer with the high step up. Heidi, occasionally walks off when i try and halter her, but many times she stands for me, or will approach me. I have used the hackamore to ask for a back and turns while on the ground

continued training

Saddled and bridled with bosal. lunged in arena, in tack. She was calmer than the previous time. Smoother backing, and sending. worked in obstacle area, sending over all . Working on backing off the side of the bridge to simulate backing out of trailer. Since she was a bit nervous about being saddled, I took off and put on different saddles

Halter/Walk/Groom

Easily haltered Heidi. Walked to Grooming area. Very well mannered despite all of the activity around. Walked her back to an agitated Breeze awaiting her.

Halter/Walk/Groom/Round Pen class

Easily haltered Heidi (happily surprised?) She had a little trepidation walking past barns, to east round pen. She enjoyed the grooming. As for round pen work for class, Heidi knows the the cues well. Easy start. However, if you dont stay focused and move forward of the drive line, Heidi will stop. Heidi was not distracted by Tuckers craziness or the goings on of the ranch. She was great walking back to paddock. She had a mild spook outside of the front barn but jumped in place.

Finally had success getting her to let me halter her but she is such a super horse afterwards. Took 45 minutes for some grooming and another 30 in the round-pen.
