Let her stretch out on the lunge line a bit, she stayed pretty focused on me but was happy to move out.. starting to look very balanced. Had a really really great ride. Lots of pieces coming together. Transitions were the best yet, backing is getting better. Holding hers shoulder up and carrying herself correctly in circles is getting better and better. Canter to trot back to canter was fluid. Walk/trot/walk/whoa is helping with her picking up trot more fluidly and thinking more in the trot. Played with connecting feet to rein and rolling the HQ then turning into cow turns. Worked on serpentines at the walk and self carriage through it. Her left side will take a while to get more supple, she’s still pretty stiff through it but she’s not hurting jaw out and she has more and more moments of getting it. Very very proud of our girl

Good ride :) minimal groundwork to get going. Focused on transitions, backing, speeding up and slowing down gaits. Softening to the bit.

Did some groundwork/cavesson work to get her mind on me and more focused. Rode w,t,c. Worked a lot on trot transitions in the beginning mostly to get her moving and focused. She started off pretty full of herself but came around and ended with a good ride.

***Horse Update*** PERSONALITY: Confident dominate non spooky mare. She kind and willing when in work with a firm and kind handler. CURRENT SKILLS: Iris is walk, trot, canter with easy and balanced transistions. She is confident in her body and enjoy being ridden and worked. Calm deminor during various high stress situations in the arena and on the trail. She trail rides well. She can side pass, turn on the hind quaters, turn on the fore hand, and backs up. She is learning soft feel and self carriage. She can ride off your seat and legs. We think she will be great as a mountain, trail or ranch horse. She loads, travels, and unloads well. She ties and bathes. She is good with all four feet and has front shoes on. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: Loses focus easily and needs help paying attention to the rider and work being done. Continued worked on her back up and freeing upher hind end. CURRENT TACK: She has been worked in a snaffle and ridden in western and english tack. She has been ridden with a back cinch. TYPE OF RIDER: Iris needs an firm but kind rider. Some one who is confident in thier riding abilites. We want a rider that is level headed with a calm and steady demeanor.

Warm up on cavassan and then rode through all her gaits. Finished by riding outside u and down the driveway.

Warmed up on the cavassan. Then worked on Iris getting comfortable with roping her hind feet and back end. She was pretty worried about it for a long time and finally came through.

Warmed up on the cavassan. Worked gaits then worked Iris moving in and out of the barn throught gates. We would ride outside then come into the arena to trot. Iris did well.

***Horse Update*** Iris is doing well and ready to find the right home. The more cosistantly she gets worked the quicker she is coming through and maturing into the work. Iris is moving through all of her transistions well; walk, trot, canter. Looking for someone who is willing to take on a horse that needs worked several days a week. She is confident in her body and we have started riding her out of the arena; hoping to get her out on the trails this week. She is good with all of her feet and has shoes on her fronts. She loads, travels, and unloads well. We have had some really wonderful rides on her with her moving so softly and well! Excited to find a great home for her.

Long and hard session with Iris. She had a ton of issues balancing herself in a walk and trot. She was pulling on the bit and pushing on my legs so we work through a lot of these issues and it was tough. I am hoping we can get her to be more consistant.

Short session with groundwork just getting her attention on me and letting her move out a bit. Good ride with W,T, and s little loping. Worked on transitions, speed control, softening to the bit through walk, whoa, walk,trot transitions. Worked on backing straight , serpentines at the walk following seat and leg cues. Bending,rolling HQ then back to bend. And just softening to a slight bend quicker and more fluid. She has a habit of hanging on the bit the first couple of times

warm up on cavassan. Ride walk, trot, canter. Most of the time was spent balancing her in the trot getting her to move with relaxation and timing.

Put Iris on the cavassan today to help her balance her body and be more supple during the trot. Worked hard to get her to losen up through her back and shoulders.looking for her to stay sound through out her work.

Iris was a bit fresh after a weekend off so took a little bit of a longer to warm her up. Checked her soundness and worked through lunging. Rode Iris around arena and then outside to the round pen and back to just get her out of the arena and moving.

Iris was Energetic and In-heat but still took little groundwork and did really well under saddle...very very forward lol. Did some long lunging just to get her in the work frame of mind and get her attention on me (sunny/windy day with lots going on outside), mostly walk and trot but she wanted to move out so a little canter work too. Ride: worked on bending and giving vertically to a soft feel while at a stand still (she gets sticky laterally). Rode walk, trot while working on transitions.
