Alecz Train

Was not able to use round pen again as joel was using it. did some ground work. tracked ok but not great. rode in arena with endurance saddle and snaffle. rode on trail. did best last 45 minutes, after he fully warmed up. was pushy returning home first time, turned and went back and stood, then returned home a second time and was much less pushy.

Alecz Train

Ground work. Good with lifting and holding all 4 feet. lunged in surcingle with side reins in big arena. did not do as well as in round pen - had issues with the down hill. difficulty bending. corrected tracking after about 20 minutes. rode in bareback pad and snaffle. did well. rode walk and trot in big arena. big stumble while distracted as first setting out at trot. still needs support from the rider. open/close gates. rode around property, got scared by joels 4 dogs running loose full tilt through the opening at back of property. spun and tried to bolt. calmed down fairly quickly, had to revisit the opening as he was nervous around it after the dogs scared him. went all the way down to the front gate. did well overall.

Took a field trip down the driveway because it was a busy day in the arena. He was a sweet gentleman, and got some good grass in return.

Groomed/lunged

Lunged with circingle per Alecz\\\' instructions. He was very attentive, did not like tracking right. Worked until he got comfortable at the walk and would circle with no balking. No stumbling. He was very happy to get a little grass afterward.

Heather - Groom and lunge

Free lunged until a nasty thunderstorm rolled in. I have a headstall but didn\\\'t have time to get it adjusted/set before the storm hit. Walked/trotted. He was relaxed and attentive. Didn\\\'t stumble, but I wasn\\\'t pushing him. Groomed and let him graze for a little bit.

Heather - Groom and lunge

Unsure of which headstall to use, so I just free lunged. This was a getting-to-know-you session, and since he hasn\\\'t had much exercise we took it easy. Groomed and let him graze. In the RP, walked and trotted. Stumbled a bit. Right hind catches. He was great, though. Very alert and attentive.
