Arena work

Pippi had a potential adopter come to visit today so we longed and did obstacle work for a little while. She was very full of energy today, but was able to listen and do everything that was asked of her. On her first trip over the barrels, she did kick out, but other than that no overreactions. Until she thought she wasn’t going to get to roll after her bath, but, no fear – she did get to roll!

Driving

Great job driving today. She didn\\\'t longe first, and I was curious how she\\\'d do. She was able to wtc the entire arena, transition nicely, even do some backing and traveling on the driveway and into the small back area near the shed which has a lot of \\\"scary\\\" things. She was a rockstar and handled it all in stride.

Arena driving

W/T/C on longe line. Not super high energy, so we did a few obstacles and then hitched to the cart. She pulled really well today so we took a little side stroll down the driveway. She enjoyed the change of scenery and was a rockstar the whole time! No overreactions to anything today! Good work Pip!

Arena work

WTC both ways on longe line. HQ yields are fine, FQ needs some attention. Voice commands for downward transitions at all gaits, upward transitions continue to need assist with stick/string or end of leadrope. She was full of energy so we also completed some obstacles. She is so willing and confident to attempt anything you ask her to do! She likes to stay busy, so we also took a little stroll down the lane to see new things.

Groundwork

W/T/C both ways. All obstacles attempted were completed first time. She stood great for grooming and waiting on other horses to finish w/ an obstacle. She had a good zoomy zoom canter on the longe line and then was all business. A little pushy when we\\\'d travel over good grass, but quickly re-got the message that circling and cutting me off wasn\\\'t going to get her grass. She loved the hose off and roll when she was finished!! Good girl Pip!

Driving

Driving with 3 other horses/carts in the arena. Using a half snaffle with very light pressure. Is very responsive to \\\"whoa\\\" and \\\"walk on\\\" and click for \\\"trot\\\". Very calm and focused. Was able to ignore panicking horses near her. Stood relatively quietly for cart hitching.

First cart pull!

Hitched to cart, was a little wiggly, but not nervous- just antsy. LeighAnn led her for a half a lap then began to move back. She was great. It took her a pull or 2 to get the hang of getting it going, but she seemed to enjoy the work. Especially the bath and roll at the end!
