INTRODUCTIONThrough the dedicated efforts of our trainers and volunteers, we are able to extend the Wyandot County Humane Society vital service to equines (horses, donkeys and mules) in need. Our farm is equipped to take in any equine. We go on to place those animals in loving new homes whenever possible. We never turn any away equine in need, and we do not charge a fee for taking in an equine. Currently, with two full-time live-in caretakers/trainers and a part-time caretaker, we are able to train and do remedial work with a wide variety of horses. On average, we have 50 animals, who are in various stages of training. With our life-time lease placement system we are able to track and protect our horses for life. A yearly report is required of all our adopters and the horse always has the option of coming back to us for placement. The Equine Rescue Program complies with all American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) care guidelines.
